New Year, New Tech -January 23 & 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Get Libby and Hoopla eReading on your device. Get help installing and learning about the two eReading apps you can use for free with your library card. First come, first serve.

Children’s Programs

STEAM & Stories (ages 0-5) has free play with STEM toys and STEM stories. This is the first Thursday of each month at 10 a.m..

Preschool Storytime (ages 2-5) is on Thursdays at 10 a.m. (other than the first week of the month). Join us for stories, songs, crafts, and play time!

Kaleidoscope Play & Learn (ages 0-5) Smart Start of Yadkin County meets Tuesdays from 10-11:30 a.m.

Roots Homeschool Club Meet-up at the Library - Tuesdays 1 pm to 3 p.m. on January 14, February 11, and March 11. Meet up for STEM activities, puzzles, bring your own board/card game, have book time, etc. Club members and people interesting in homeschooling are welcome.

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program: offers free tax help to people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. A checklist of what to bring to your local VITA site can be found here.
