New Children's Books Available
We received a grant from The Pilcrow Foundation and Friends of the Library that provided over 100 books that we have now, ready for checkout. These were hand picked and is a wonderful addition to our children's section. Come see what titles are available today.
New Wonderbooks Available
Several new "Wonderbooks" have arrived. These have audio that will assist your child in reading and ask questions to see how they understood the book when placed in "learning" mode. We have more on the way and the children are really finding great interest in these. Which will you choose?

Happening Monthly
- Gaming Buddies: Tuesday Mornings at 10:30 a.m until further notice. This activity is for those interested in getting together to play games with others on an ongoing basis. For those 18 or older who are new to the area, would like to meet new friends, connect with others, challenge yourself, and keep your mind alert.
- Storytime –Mondays at 10:30 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, Storytime will not be held if schools are closed.
- Alleghany Friends of the Library - Monday at 1 p.m. except for holiday closings.
Novel Cinema - restarting in February of 2025.
- Alleghany Writers - 3rd Thursday at 2 p.m.
- Alleghany County Historical & Genealogical Society – 2nd Friday at 4 p.m.
- Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention - The library is taking names for Tai Chi classes. Contact the library for more information.
- Book Ends Book Club - 2nd Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
- Page Turners Book Club - 3rd Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
